Behind the Razorwire

Early on working in prison, I became aware that the super information highway called the world wide web couldn't hold a candle to the speed at which gossip and news could travel throughout this camp. So keen is the process that its been said that if you fart inmates could tell you what you had for diner. They know if you wear the same shirt in the same month change shoes or try a new cologne, the latter not being one I would recommend using in prison, unless you are single and looking to impress a female co-worker. Females who work in prison especially male prisons do not suffer from lack of attention. If she's fifty, fat,hair longer than a finger and breasts they will be "gunned down". Forget that, little or no hint of breast doesn't matter. For those of you who are not familiar with the term, "gunning " refers to an inmate who will expose himself to the female and often masturbate at the sight of a female. Some "gunners" will often cut through their pockets in preparation for the next encounter. Being caught as a 38 as its referred as will result often in severe beating at the hand of the officer making the catch and automatic lock up in segregation for a while plus a label that will prevent you from working in some areas where females are. Kitchen, where you can trade stolen food for favors or items, infirmary where you can sometimes get drugs from patents who will trade or sell their meds for profit. Most of your 38 cases seem to be black males and many have sex crimes, young weak whites seem to fill the role as sissy's or females substitutes (as if you never herd of that) typically they are often protected and sometimes ceremonies for them to be married are performed and, let it be known that the sissy's rule the camp, they are responsible for more fights, stabbings, and turmoil and have been known to set off riots. Even most officers tread lightly around sissy's and give them space, but as is the case in all prisons some officers just don't get it, and will down talk or mistreat one and he will pay often with a severe beating himself at the hands of inmates who see a chance to claim a little "get back". Often they will have girl names, and openly display their sexuality with posture, speech and subtle attire as in tight clothing and (I have herd, night gowns) and sexy weekend wear. I make it a point to use their given names when addressing them and they seem to understand that it makes me neutral and non-judgmental and they except the idea that I don't condone that conduct and I have had no problem from that area, some supervisors can't make that claim and often problems occur when they are allowed to behave inappropriately. Homosexuality is a given in all prisons, it happens often condoned because it keep inmates happy, but you didn't here that from me...................
